AIDS WALK For Orphans

The United Nations estimates that:

  • Every 14 seconds another child is orphaned by AIDS

  • 15 million children orphaned by AIDS worldwide.

The problem is enormous but, for each child impacted, the pain is very personal. And the dangers are very real for so many who have already suffered so much.  AIDS is devastating families and communities around the world; and children are suffering the most.

This is a challenge laid at the feet of each and every person on the planet who considers compassion a virtue, and particularly to those who believe there is a God who cares for and identifies with those who suffer in silence.

You can take action—WALK for Orphans

December 1st is WORLD AIDS DAY

Our 5th Annual AIDS WALK for Orphans will be held on December 6th, at 10:00 a.m., as part of the Downtown Santa Cruz Holiday Parade, where we have much greater exposure to the public.

Students, teachers, and families from Monte Vista Christian School are joining with us again this year in our education and fund raising efforts on behalf of AIDS Orphans

Participants solicit support in the form of donations:  cash, check, or online credit card paid to World Vision, through our Women of Vision Chapter.  All funds raised through our WALK go to benefit the village we sponsor in Malawi, Africa.  Donations are tax deductible.

For information contact Suzanne Otvos 831-684-0574 or 831-688-2276; or Mariposa 831-688-4119

The Santa Cruz Sentinel Gives WOVMB a "Thumbs Up"

"THUMBS UP: To the people who turned out Saturday to celebrate World AIDS Day, including the Santa Cruz AIDS Project, which hosted a Santa Cruz candlelight service to remember those who have died of AIDS in Santa Cruz County, and the local Women of Vision chapter of World Vision, who turned out Saturday for the downtown holiday parade for its fourth annual AIDS Walk for Orphans."
